Hey Porsche friends! It will soon be time for Trident Technical College's annual car show –The Spring Spin Off. As Vice-chair of the Automotive Advisory Board and Chairman for the car show committee, I would like to say thanks to all who have made our club a noticeable presence in the show the last few years.
There was a time when you couldn't find a Porsche in our show. Now the Palmetto region is there in force every year and on that subject, beginning this year a Club Participation trophy is being awarded. So let's get those cars to the show AND make sure you write or type PCA on the "CLUB AFFILIATION" line.
Our show is held on the last Saturday of April – this year’s date is the 26th. Please note there is NO rain date and NO alcohol is allowed. We always have music, soft drinks and food or you are welcome to bring your own and picnic at your leisure.
When I say show most people respond "I don't have a show car". Well good news - you don't need one! This is a wash it and bring it show; a show for everyone. The entrants range from mind blowing custom cars to daily drivers and everything in between. As I like to remind everyone, our own Jennifer Mills took home trophies 2 different years with her daily driver.
Almost every show benefits a worthy cause and ours is no different. All the proceeds from our show fund the Athell Yon Scholarship which was founded 20 years ago to assist students desiring a career in the automotive and/or truck repair industry.
