Join Palmetto Region for an apple picking/wine tasting weekend in Flat Rock, North Carolina, Oct. 18-20.
A block of rooms have been reserved at the Mountain Lodge and Convention Center in Flat Rock with a room rate of $179 for a Studio Suite and $199 for a Deluxe Suite. Breakfast is included, no charge for parking. Reservation number (828) 693-9910 .
We will leave Fri. 10/18 late morning and stop for lunch in Columbia with arrival in Flat Rock in the afternoon. Dinner will be at the Flat Rock Wood Room, an eclectic smokehouse serving wood-fired pizzas and pit-cooked BBQ.
A trip to the Skytop Orchard for apple picking and tour is scheduled for Sat. morning, followed by a drive to Jump Off Rock in nearby Laurel Park. This will be followed by a drive to Burntshirt Vineyards for wine tasting, box lunch and a tour of the vineyard. If time allows, Hendersonville has a great downtown for exploring prior to our meeting there for dinner.
