Wilmington, NC Tour May 25th - 27th, 2018

Join your fellow Palmetto Region members for a wander up to historic Wilmington, NC over the Memorial Day Weekend. We are planning for two departure groups leaving from Mt. Pleasant on Friday (May 25); one in the morning and one in the early afternoon. Upon arrival we will be checking into the Wingate by Wyndham (see details below). We will have a group dinner in Friday night at a local restaurant.

Saturday morning you can have breakfast at your leisure at the hotel followed by optional tours of Airlie Botanical Gardens and the battleship USS North Carolina. Downtown Wilmington is on the Cape Fear River and has great shopping, walking and lunch options. The greater Wilmington area also includes Fort Fisher with its Civil War Museum, the NC Aquarium and the NC Military History Museum. The quaint town of Southport is very near with excellent waterfront dinning plus a really neat and very walkable downtown area.

We are currently working with the Wilmington Porsche dealer (also owned by Mr. Baker) for some sort of late afternoon gathering and a possible preview of their new BMW showroom and/or tour of the current Porsche sales/service facility. This will be followed by a group dinner.

Sunday departure (or Monday if you choose) is on your own schedule. Again, breakfast is served at the hotel.

We will have more details as we get closer to the event.
