Come join us as we head to what National Geographic calls "One of the best drives in the U.S.", including a stay at the historic Jekyll Island Club Hotel.
We will be staying Friday night, November 13th at the Hampton Inn outside of the beautiful city of Savannah, GA. Then Saturday morning we will be starting our drive down the Coastal Highway toward Jekyll Island. During our drive we will have opportunities to see places like the Sugar Mill Ruins of Thicket, Fort, Frederica National Monument, and the St Simons Lighthouse. Upon our arrival at Jekyll Island we will enjoy an afternoon touring the Historic District where most of the historic buildings from the Jekyll Island Club era still stand, most in remarkable preservation. The centerpiece of the grounds is the enormous Jekyll Island Club Hotel, where we will be staying Saturday night, November 14th. The hotel is surrounded by mansion-sized cottages from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. As the evening settles in you will have the opportunity to enjoy dinner at a number of great restaurants including dining in the Grand Ballroom. On Sunday enjoy some more time exploring this unique island before departing for home. We have block booking available at both hotels up to 30 days before arrival, hotel reservations can be made by calling the hotels directly. The hotel details will be included in your registration confirmation email. Please RSVP below if you are planning on attending.
