According to Wikipedia, Oktoberfest is the world's largest Volksfest (beer festival and travelling funfair) held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany.  In celebration of our German heritage automobiles, the Palmetto Region PCA will be having its own Oktoberfest weekend Saturday & Sunday, October 10 & 11, 2015. 

The fun starts on Saturday with attendance at the Mount Pleasant Cars & Coffee at Towne Center outside of the Atlanta Bread Company (starts approximately 8 am with folks coming and going sometimes until 11 am, 1712 Towne Centre Way, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464).

After an optional lunch at R.B.'s on Shem Creek (approx 11:30 am - 97 Church St, Mt Pleasant, SC 29464), find Jennifer outside of the restaurant to pick up the Gimmick Rally instructions starting at 1:30 pm.  The Gimmick Rally will challenge you to answer questions by finding certain landmarks hidden in plain site on the nearby barrier islands.  If there is a line of cars at the pickup location, each car will be released for the adventure with a 3 minute gap between participants.

Bring your rally results to dinner at The Islander on Daniel Island at 7 pm (160 Fairchild Street, Daniel Island).  Dinner is combination of German themed and Lowcountry favorites.  Served buffet style, entrees to include braised beef tips over Spaetzle, a chicken cream based pasta with veggies, and shrimp & grits plus salad, sides, and dessert.  There will be a cash bar offering some seasonal Oktoberfest beer as well as other drink options.

After enjoying the evening with your Porsche Club friends, the final wrap up will include brunch at the Southerly Restaurant (730 Coleman Blvd, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464).  There will be a short drive for those staying at the host hotel to the Southerly in Mount Pleasant.  We have a reservation in the private room starting at 9:30 am.  The Eye Opener Brunch will include scrambled eggs, bacon/sausage, hash brown casserole, grits & biscuits plus coffee, soft drinks, and tea.  Again, cash bar for those that need a little extra something to go with their brunch.  Door prizes and rally awards will be given out during the Sunday Brunch. The 911 Raffle winners will also receive there cars during the Sunday Brunch..

Cost for all of this Oktoberfest fun?  $30 per person includes your dinner and brunch.

You MUST RSVP online by October 1!  For convenience to the activities, a block of rooms has been reserved for Friday and Saturday nights at the Hampton Inn on Daniel Island (160 Fairchild Street, 29492) for $139 per night. The details on hotel rate will be emailed to you on registration.
